A farm owned by Ida Huddleston and her family in Northern Kentucky has been preserved despite a significant offer. A year ago, a major AI company offered $26 million to buy part of their land for a data center. The family refused, wanting to maintain their 1,200-acre farm near Maysville, Kentucky. Huddleston, 82, expressed concerns over water and land degradation linked to data centers. She doubted the promised jobs and growth from the project, calling it a “scam.” The unnamed company has since filed a zoning request for over 2,000 acres in Northern Kentucky, indicating they may proceed with building the center near Huddleston’s property.
