Acquire the 13-inch Apple MacBook Air (M4, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) for $949, a 21% discount. Apple’s new M5 MacBook Air is out and quite good, with iterative improvements. It’s $50 off at Amazon until March 31. However, opting for last year’s MacBook Air with an M4 chip saves more. Available configurations are up to $300 off. A 13-inch M4 MacBook Air with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is one of the cheapest options. It usually sells for $1,199 but is reduced to $949, saving $250. It’s the lowest recorded price; the same deal was last available in December per camelcamelcamel. Amazon’s $949 price is for the sky blue color, while Best Buy matches it for silver and B&H Photo lists midnight for $1,049. A 256GB storage version is $899 at Amazon, though not a record low. A comparison with the M5 version shows minimal differences: the M5 chip is only slightly faster. WiFi and Bluetooth support in M5 is updated, making it slightly more future-proof, but otherwise, the M4 offers similar functionality for less. Key features include a 13.6-inch display, Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, 12MP webcam, four-speaker sound, three-mic array, and up to 18 hours of video playback per charge.
