UPDATE: Mar. 25, 2026, 5:00 a.m. EDT New robot vacuums from Roborock, Dreame, and Narwal were all announced at CES 2026 in January. I’m in the process of testing all of them at home and am updating this guide accordingly as they’re released for public purchase.
There’s definitely something to be said for the crisp handheld control of a good cordless stick vacuum. But if you don’t consider cleaning cathartic, the best robot vacuums can cross that chore off your to-do list for good.
And after testing nearly 40 robot vacuums on my own personal floors (my apartment is very clean), I can confidently curate a handful of robot vacuum recommendations that’ll make your life easier — and fit your budget. Here are the best robot vacuums to buy as of early 2026.

When do robot vacuums go on sale?
Regardless of what you’re aiming to spend, the pool of vacuums in your price range is bound to grow during Amazon’s 2026 Big Spring Sale. No, it’s not just a spring cleaning-centric sale, but robot vacuums are a major deals category for any major Amazon sale — every robot vacuum in this guide will likely see a new record-low discount. In fact, many spring robot vacuum deals were already live at Amazon ahead of the spring sale’s official window: March 25 through 31 this year.
The Good & The Bad
Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete
Our review
The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete is an incredibly well-rounded premium robot vacuum that would excel in a variety of homes. Its market-leading 35,000 suction power and livestream pet camera make it the top contender for homes with pets. Its dual spinning mopping pads are more precise around edges than a flat mop or a roller mop, speaking to anyone who’d cringe watching a robot vacuum completely ignore a corner or wall edge.
Measuring just over three inches tall, it’s also easily the best slim robot vacuum out there — ideal for homes with low-clearance furniture, or expectations for cleaning under cabinets.
Why we picked this
It happened: The Roborock Saros 10R has finally been dethroned as the best robot vacuum for corner mopping. Dreame should enjoy its reign while it can before Roborock’s 2026 flagship comes out this spring: The Saros 20 Sonic matches the X60 Max Ultra Complete’s suction power and introduces an interesting new method of edge mopping. The conversation about the best robot vacuum of the year is about to get interesting.
After Dreame’s release of a flagship roller mop robot vacuum in September, I appreciate its return to dual rotating mopping pads in its CES 2026 star, the X60 Max Ultra Complete. The double pad design just offers so much more precision along edges and in 90-degree angles. Like the Roborock Saros 10R, I’ve watched the X60 Max Ultra Complete scoot the vacuum’s circular body as close to a wall as possible, then extend a spinning mop right up against the wall, along table legs, or against kitchen counter edges. At just 3.1 inches tall, the X60 Max Ultra can even reach the sticky floor under the overhang of my fridge.
The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete’s mopping capabilities are intensified by the use of hot water during mopping. That has been key in melting stubborn dried stains on hard floors, like the massive dried puddle of dirty snow slush and salt that was accumulating for days near my front door. Water stains were a struggle for most 2-in-1 vacuums I’ve tested, but the X60 Max Ultra Complete left the hardwood gleaming.
The X60 Max Ultra Complete’s carpet performance has also stood out to me. It didn’t flinch at the war zone of spilled sprinkles and cat hair that I created on a furry high-pile rug, leaving behind just a few minuscule sprinkles and a few ultra-fine hairs. Its pickup rate for rice, powdered sugar, and kitty litter on hardwood and tile was just as reliable, though bits of debris hiding near the lip of my kitchen Ruggable were missed on multiple occasions. I can just pull the rug back an inch in that case, though such intense suction power shouldn’t get tripped up by such a negligible change in plane.
Suction power: 35,000 Pa Battery life: Up to 180 minutes Height: 3.1 inches Small obstacle avoidance: Yes
