In a time when prices are rising for everything, midrange smartphones need to step up in quality. Samsung recently launched its Galaxy S26 series, but expensive flagship models aren’t accessible to everyone in today’s economic climate. That’s why the tech giant has introduced the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57, priced at $449 and $549 respectively. These mid-range options offer premium features without the $1,000+ price tag of models like the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Both models are available from April 9, with the A57 coming in Awesome Navy, and the A37 available in Awesome Charcoal, Awesome Lavender, Graygreen, and Awesome White.
The specs for the Galaxy A37, the more affordable of the two, include a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an Exynos chipset, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery. Its camera setup includes a 50MP wide, 8MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro rear camera, plus a 12MP front-facing camera.
Meanwhile, the A57 offers similar specifications, with slight boosts such as 8GB RAM as the base option and improved rear camera specs including a 12MP ultrawide lens, alongside additional AI photo-editing features.
Though nearly identical in specifications, the A57 stands out for being 0.5mm thinner, 27g lighter, and more comfortable to use, according to a brief hands-on experience. Both devices come equipped with Android 16, exhibiting quick app responsiveness. Noteworthy is the IP68 rating for dust and water resistance – a first for Samsung’s midrange line.
Amidst a challenging economy and RAM shortages driving high-end tech prices up, Samsung’s latest midrange launch could capture attention over competitors like the lackluster Google Pixel 10a, potentially earning the title of the best midrange Android phone this year.
