WhatsApp is introducing a range of new features and updates, including AI-powered suggested replies based on your conversations. The Meta-owned messaging platform is also offering new ways to free up space, enhance photos with Meta AI, and more.
Notably, the app is updating its “Writing Help” feature, which assists users in drafting messages. Originally launched last August, Writing Help aids in rephrasing, proofreading, or adjusting the tone of messages. Meta announced that this update will help users refine their messages.
Meta aims for users to employ in-app technology for drafting messages instead of external tools like ChatGPT. However, many may prefer personal interactions over AI-generated messages, especially in family chats.
The company assures users that chats remain private even with Writing Help.
To use the feature, tap the chat bar, select the stickers icon in the typing field, and tap the pencil with sparkledust icon for the AI feature.
For freeing space, WhatsApp now allows users to find and delete large files within any chat, enabling them to clear media files while preserving chat history.
Users can now use Meta AI to enhance photos directly in chats, such as removing distractions, changing backgrounds, or applying styles.
WhatsApp also supports moving chat history from iOS to Android and allows two accounts to be logged in on iOS, a feature available on Android.
WhatsApp stickers will now suggest specific ones as users type emojis, allowing easy swaps.
These new features are rolling out now and will soon be available to all users, WhatsApp says.
