A new feature called ‘Extensions’ might enable users to select which chatbot Siri collaborates with, according to Bloomberg.

Apple’s iOS 27 update will allow users to choose the AI chatbot they want to integrate with Siri. According to a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, third-party chatbots from the App Store, such as Google’s Gemini or Anthropic’s Claude, will be able to provide responses for Siri, similar to its current integration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

The ‘Extensions’ system will let users enable or disable the chatbots they want to pair with Siri on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, as reported by Bloomberg. These integrations are expected to work with a standalone app Apple plans to launch for its AI-enhanced Siri version, designed to take actions across various apps on the user’s behalf.

Apple recently announced collaboration with Google to revamp Siri, following several setbacks. A report from The Information indicated that this partnership includes Apple’s ability to use Gemini for training smaller AI models.

Apple is anticipated to showcase the latest versions of its operating systems at the Worldwide Developers Conference starting June 8th.
