The Moon shines brightly tonight, with more than half illuminated. See what you can spot tonight.

Without aids, see the Tranquillitatis, Imbrium, and Vaporum Mares. With binoculars, see Mare Frigoris, Alphonsus, and Clavius Craters. A telescope shows Caucasus Mountains and Apollo landing sites.
When is the next Full Moon?
In North America, expect the next Full Moon on April 1.
What are Moon phases?
NASA explains the Moon orbits Earth every 29.5 days, showing eight phases. While the same side faces us, sunlight illuminates parts as it moves, creating phases like full, half, or crescent.
Lunar Phases:
– New Moon: Dark, between Earth and Sun.
– Waxing Crescent: Small light on right (Northern Hemisphere).
– First Quarter: Half lit on right, looks half.
– Waxing Gibbous: More than half lit, not full.
– Full Moon: Fully illuminated, visible.
– Waning Gibbous: Loses light on the right (Northern Hemisphere).
– Third Quarter: Half lit, left side lit.
– Waning Crescent: Thin light on left, then dark.
