Nvidia Releases DLSS 4.5 Update Featuring New Frame Generation Capabilities

The Nvidia app beta has introduced 6x Multi Frame Generation for RTX 50-series GPUs.

Nvidia has launched a major update for its Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) feature, adding AI-powered frame generation modes for supported GeForce RTX graphics cards. These DLSS 4.5 upgrades are included in the new Nvidia app beta update, available today, enhancing performance and image quality in over 20 gaming titles.

A key feature of DLSS 4.5 is its 6x Multi Frame Generation for RTX 50-series GPUs. Nvidia claims this mode uses a second-generation transformer AI model to produce “five additional frames for every single natively rendered one,” with “minimal impact” on responsiveness, an improvement from the three additional frames provided by DLSS 4.

This should not be confused with Dynamic Frame Generation, another feature in the beta app update. Nvidia describes it as an “automatic transmission for your GPU,” allowing automatic switching between different Multi Frame Generation levels to balance frame rate, image quality, and responsiveness. Users can enable this manually on specific games or globally across all titles by adjusting settings in the Nvidia app’s Graphics tab.

A new DLSS Frame Generation Model is also available for GeForce RTX 40 Series and 50 Series users, enhancing in-game user interfaces like mini maps. The Nvidia app beta launches alongside new DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution updates for ARC Raiders and Marvel Rivals, expanding the list of supported titles announced at CES in January.
