Hisense’s Canvas offers a bezel and over 1,000 free artworks, providing a great alternative to Samsung’s The Frame.
Samsung plans to release a new version of The Frame this year, but its date and likely high price remain uncertain. Meanwhile, the 55-inch Hisense CanvasTV is now available at a new low price of $599.99 ($400 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart, offering an affordable option for an art-inspired TV.
The 4K QLED TV features a slim design and a matte, anti-glare display that appears as artwork when not in use. Though Samsung’s The Frame has a more realistic look, Hisense’s version closely mimics the appearance of actual prints. It includes a magnetic bezel for easy installation to resemble framed art, a feature Samsung usually charges extra for. Additionally, Hisense provides free access to over 1,000 artworks, including abstract, modern, and Renaissance styles, featuring famous artists like Van Gogh and Monet.
Aside from its artistic appeal, the Hisense TV is highly functional. It runs on Google TV, which is more intuitive than Samsung’s Tizen OS, supporting major streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Max. It includes Dolby Vision for brighter, detailed content and offers a variable refresh rate up to 144Hz for smoother motion, especially beneficial for fast-paced sports. This refresh rate also enhances gaming, with two HDMI 2.1 ports and AMD FreeSync Premium to reduce screen tearing. Additionally, it supports Chromecast, Apple AirPlay, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa, making it easy to stream and control via voice commands.
