Samsung Smart TVs are acquiring built-in Google Cast functionality through a recent update, representing a major improvement for users. This free update will enable Samsung TV owners to cast content seamlessly from their Android devices or Chrome browsers without the requirement of extra hardware like a Chromecast. Initially introduced for the 2026 models, the update is now being extended to select 2023 and 2024 Samsung TVs. This advancement fills a longstanding void in Samsung’s ecosystem, as the company’s Tizen OS previously did not offer this capability. With Google Cast functionality, users can effortlessly stream applications such as YouTube and Google Photos straight to their TVs, as long as they are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Although Samsung has yet to formally announce the rollout, reports suggest that some users have already begun to receive the update. The rollout might take several weeks to cover all eligible devices, depending on the model and geographic location.
