Today’s Connections: Sports Edition is for people who love college basketball. This version of the popular New York Times word game tests the knowledge of sports fans. Similar to the original Connections, the game involves finding “common threads between words.” Like Wordle, Connections resets after midnight with increasingly tricky word sets, so we’ve provided some hints and tips to help you.

What is Connections: Sports Edition?
The NYT’s latest daily word game, in association with The Athletic, challenges players to group four words with something in common. Available on web browsers and mobile devices, each puzzle has 16 words divided into four categories, which could include anything from book titles to country names. There’s only one correct answer for each grouping.
Correctly grouping four words removes them from the board. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake, with a maximum of four mistakes allowed before the game ends. The board can be shuffled to spot connections more easily, and groups are color-coded from easiest (yellow) to hardest (purple). Players can share results on social media.
