Samsung may introduce a Pro model next year.
Almost a year out, we’re already getting Galaxy S27 leaks.
Samsung may add a Pro model to its Galaxy S27 lineup. The Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup just launched a few months ago, but leaks for the S27 have surfaced. According to Korean news outlet ET News (via Phone Arena), Samsung is contemplating a fourth model for the S27 series. Traditionally, Samsung releases three flagship Galaxy S models each January or February: a base, a Plus, and an Ultra. The new S27 Pro model, as reported, would likely include many flagship features of the Ultra, but with possible compromises to reduce the cost.
Details on feature retention are scarce due to the distant launch. However, ET News suggests the more affordable Pro model might omit support for the S Pen, a key feature of the Galaxy Ultra phones for some years. It could still offer the Privacy Display feature, a main selling point of the S26 Ultra.
Another report recently suggested the S27 Ultra might see improvements in the main rear camera sensor, although specifics remain vague. Expected enhancements in performance, battery life, and AI are likely, although no firm information is available yet.
While Samsung is expected to release four phones in the Galaxy S series next year, previous reports indicated a plan to replace the S26 Plus model with a sleeker Edge model, akin to the Galaxy S25 Edge. However, due to poor sales, the Edge model was abandoned, resulting in the release of three S26 phones similar to their predecessors. Samsung might attempt a similar strategy by replacing the S27 Plus with the S27 Ultra, but this report suggests otherwise.
