A recent report from Counterpoint Research indicates that the iPhone 17 series dominated the market in Q4 2025, with its main models occupying the top three positions and solidifying Apple’s place among the top 10 best-selling smartphones during that timeframe. Here are the specifics.
### iPhone 17 Pro Max Dominated Sales in Q4 2025
The latest report from Counterpoint Research reveals that Apple secured five slots in the top 10 best-selling smartphones in the final quarter of 2025, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max at the forefront, followed by the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro.
The iPhone 16 secured fourth place, while the iPhone 16e took eighth. The iPhone Air was absent from the top 10.
Samsung claimed four positions with the Galaxy A56 (#5), the Galaxy A36 (#6), the Galaxy A07 (#7), and the Galaxy S25 in tenth place, while Xiaomi completed the list at ninth with the Redmi A5.
Counterpoint notes that the “top 10 smartphones accounted for 23% of global sales for the quarter,” with the iPhone 17 Pro Max representing 5% alone.
Throughout the year, Apple reliably maintained iPhone models in Counterpoint’s top 10 list, securing the top three positions consistently, while Samsung and Xiaomi swapped ranks on a quarterly basis, except in Q3 when Xiaomi was not represented.
Counterpoint’s report further indicated that the iPhone 16 was the sole iPhone model to feature in the top 10 throughout the entire year, outperforming every ranking except the final one.
