What is Connections?
Connections is a hit on social media, part of the Times’ Games section. Created with help from associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, it challenges players to group four words with a shared trait. Available on both browsers and mobile devices, each puzzle includes 16 words split into four categories, ranging from book titles to software. Despite seeming pairs, only one correct answer exists.
Successfully grouping a set removes those words from the board. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with up to four allowed before the game ends. Players can shuffle the board, and groups are color-coded: yellow (easiest), green, blue, and purple. Results can be shared on social media.
