Stephen Colbert Reacts to Trump’s Double-Sided Ceasefire

Following several days of threats, including a Truth Social post stating that “a whole civilization will die tonight,” Donald Trump has declared a “double-sided ceasefire” with Iran. This agreement allows for a two-week period during which the contested Strait of Hormuz will permit shipping traffic.

On The Late Show, Stephen Colbert questioned the president’s Wednesday social media post and his use of the term “double-sided.”

“But aren’t all peace deals double-sided? I believe there’s a word for a single-sided ceasefire, and it’s murder,” the host said.

Trump also stated on Truth Social that he agreed to the ceasefire because “we have already met and exceeded all military objectives” in the U.S/Israel war with Iran.

“It’s true, this war reached all of its objectives,” reacted Colbert. “It’s been weeks since anyone mentioned the Epstein files.”
