After posting a comment, you have 15 minutes to edit it.
If you make an error in an Instagram comment, you now have the ability to fix it without needing to delete it and post again. On Thursday, Instagram informed users about the new feature that allows comments to be edited within 15 minutes of posting, providing ample time to correct any mistakes.
During this 15-minute timeframe, you can make unlimited edits, according to Meta spokesperson Nicole Rechtszaid as she informed The Verge. To edit a comment, just tap the “Edit” text appearing after you add a comment to a post. This feature is visible after testing comments on the iOS app. Any edits made will show an “Edited” label in gray next to them.
Though it may seem minor, given Instagram’s massive user base — it exceeded 3 billion monthly active users last year — the feature may reduce typos in comment sections.
The feature was in testing with select users since March.
