The new tier aims to attract users from Anthropic and its popular Claude Code tool. This $100 option will compete with Anthropic’s “Max” tier for Claude, priced the same. It serves as a middle ground between the $20 Plus tier and the $200 Pro version. OpenAI mentions that while there are now two “Pro” tiers, the new tier “still offers access to all Pro features,” with the more expensive version allowing “even higher usage limits.” According to OpenAI, the ChatGPT Plus plan will remain the best value at $20 for regular, day-to-day Codex use, while the new $100 Pro tier offers a more accessible upgrade for intensive daily use. OpenAI also provides an $8 per month Go tier and a free option.
