YouTube has confirmed it is raising subscription prices for YouTube Premium and YouTube Music in the U.S. The individual YouTube Premium plan is now $15.99 per month, up from $13.99, while the family plan rises from $22.99 to $26.99 per month. YouTube Premium Lite will increase from $7.99 to $8.99 monthly, offering ad-free viewing except for songs and music videos.

The YouTube Music individual plan will go up from $10.99 to $11.99 per month, and the family plan will increase from $16.99 to $18.99 per month. Both new and existing subscribers will be subject to these price changes, with current subscribers receiving at least a 30-day advance notice via email.

A YouTube spokesperson stated this is the first price update since 2023 to maintain a high-quality experience supporting creators. The spokesperson emphasized that the price change helps sustain valued features like ad-free viewing and access to over 300 million tracks on YouTube Music.

In July 2023, YouTube previously raised the YouTube Premium monthly price from $11.99 to $13.99 and YouTube Music from $9.99 to $10.99. As of March 2025, YouTube reported having 125 million subscribers across YouTube Music and YouTube Premium, up from 100 million in 2024.

This price adjustment follows similar moves by other streaming services, with recent hikes by Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, and earlier increases by Spotify, HBO Max, Peacock, and Disney+/Hulu.
