Microsoft is now expanding its Xbox mode to all Windows 11 PCs. This mode provides a full-screen interface for the Xbox PC app, resembling Steam’s Big Picture Mode, and first appeared as the Xbox Full Screen Experience (FSE) on Asus’ Xbox Ally devices.

“Some players in select markets will be able to download the Xbox mode experience today, with more users gaining access in the coming weeks,” according to the Xbox team. Access the Xbox mode by installing the latest Windows update for Windows 11.

Xbox mode is designed to bridge the gap between Xbox consoles and Windows. Its initial launch seemed like a beta on Xbox Ally devices. “Since introducing Xbox mode as ‘full screen experience’ on Windows handhelds, player feedback has been crucial in evolving the experience across devices,” the Xbox team notes. “These insights have directly influenced Xbox mode on Windows 11 PCs.”

Additionally, Microsoft is improving the Xbox Ally X handheld with a preview of its Auto SR upscaling technology. Xbox console users are also getting a new dashboard update to disable Quick Resume on individual games and customize dashboard colors.
