Anthropic is seeking investor allocations for its latest fundraising round within the next 48 hours, per sources familiar with the matter. The round is expected to be approximately $50 billion and is likely to close in two weeks, according to sources.
As previously reported, Anthropic is aiming for a valuation of around $900 billion. However, due to high investor demand, the final valuation might exceed this figure, sources indicated.
Anthropic did not provide a comment.
Despite the strong demand, some early investors—particularly those who invested in 2024 or earlier—are not participating in this round. They are waiting to potentially cash out during Anthropic’s anticipated IPO later this year.
This is likely Anthropic’s last private round before going public, aimed at funding its substantial computing needs.
Anthropic recently announced its annual revenue run rate has exceeded $30 billion. However, sources familiar with the company’s financials report the run rate is closer to $40 billion.
Anthropic’s last funding round was in February, valued at $380 billion. At $900 billion, the company would more than double its valuation and surpass its main rival, OpenAI, which recently closed a $122 billion round at an $852 billion post-money valuation.
