The popular Netflix animated musical is set to return for a second installment.

Prepare for a more intense KPop and demon-hunter experience. The acclaimed, Oscar-nominated animated film “KPop Demon Hunters” is making a comeback with a sequel. The fictional Korean girl group HUNTR/X will be back to deliver pop hits and battle evil boybands (or other demons).

Directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans will continue their multiyear exclusive partnership with Netflix to lead this project.

Given that the first film is Netflix’s most popular ever, achieved its widest theatrical release, topped the box office, and secured Oscar nominations for Best Animated Film and Best Original Song, along with the song “Golden” reaching the number one spot across 30 countries, the sequel seems like a natural progression.

Co-director Kang expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “There’s so much more to this world we have built, and I’m excited to show you. This is only the beginning.”
