Amazon’s AI assistant Alexa+ is introducing a new personality. The company announced Thursday that a “Sassy” option will be available, targeted for adults, with additional security checks required in the Alexa app before use. This style won’t be available when Amazon Kids is activated. It joins existing options such as Brief, Chill, and Sweet, which were launched last month. Activating the Sassy option in the Alexa app includes a warning about its explicit language, necessitating security verification, like a Face ID on iOS. The assistant describes the Sassy style as witty and roasty, providing answers with humor and charm. While it includes mature topics, it stays clear of explicit sexual content, hate speech, illegal activities, or harmful content. This development reflects Amazon’s efforts to make Alexa+ more customizable in the age of generative AI by offering diverse, engaging personalities tailored to user preferences.
