Apple Broadens Reach in the Gulf Area by Introducing Online Store in Saudi Arabia

Apple has officially introduced its Online Store in Saudi Arabia, representing a notable achievement for customers in the area who can now buy iPhones, iPads, Macs, and additional devices directly from the company. Previously, Apple consumers in Saudi Arabia depended on Authorized Resellers for their purchases. The new online store offers access to Apple’s entire product range, customization choices, and direct support without the involvement of third-party intermediaries.

Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail and People, conveyed enthusiasm about the launch, mentioning, “We are excited to bring the Apple Store online and the Apple Store app to Saudi Arabia, providing customers a new avenue to discover and shop Apple’s remarkable selection of products and services. Our customers in Saudi Arabia are enthusiastic about what they can achieve with technology, and our teams are eager to connect with customers and assist them in exploring how Apple innovations can significantly enhance their everyday experiences.”

This launch is part of Apple’s long-term investment plan in the area, which began in 2021 with the establishment of an all-female Apple Developer Academy in collaboration with the Government of Saudi Arabia, Tuwaiq Academy, and Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. The academy aims to offer world-class training to aspiring coders, designers, and entrepreneurs, equipping them for careers in the country’s expanding app economy. At that time, Apple unveiled plans to launch its online store in summer 2025, followed by flagship Apple Store locations in 2026, including a significant store at Diriyah, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Apple CEO Tim Cook emphasized the company’s pledge to grow in Saudi Arabia, stating, “We’re thrilled to be expanding here in Saudi Arabia with the launch of the Apple Store online next year, and the first of several flagship Apple Store locations set to debut in 2026, including an iconic store at the breathtaking site of Diriyah coming later. Our teams are eager to strengthen our relationships with customers, and to bring the finest of Apple to assist people throughout this country in exploring their passions, growing their businesses, and advancing their ideas.”

Apple has already invested more than 10 billion SAR in Saudi Arabia in recent years, with local developers experiencing a 1750% increase in App Store earnings since 2019.
