Apple Launches Service Initiative to Tackle Power Problems in M2 Mac mini

Apple has introduced a new Service Program for a “No Power Issue” impacting a limited number of M2 Mac mini users. Those affected can have their Mac mini repaired free of charge. This issue affects a “very small percentage” of M2 Mac mini units produced between June and November 2024.

Apple has identified that a tiny fraction of Mac mini (2023) models equipped with the M2 chip may fail to turn on. The devices in question were produced between June 16, 2024, and November 23, 2024. No other models of Mac mini are part of this initiative. Users can verify their Mac mini’s serial number on Apple’s website to determine eligibility for the program.

If found eligible, Apple offers two choices for servicing the Mac mini. However, should the device have any damage that hinders repair, that issue must be addressed beforehand.
