Apple Poised to Introduce Four New Products, Pending Final Authorization

3 Min Read

Apple has experienced an eventful year with numerous product unveilings, yet there are at least four more products that are allegedly set to launch, pending one significant hold-up: the updated Siri.

### Siri’s Setbacks Are Causing Several Missing Apple Products

As a company like Apple, which creates the hardware, software, and services that drive its products, you gain enhanced control over the timing of launches. For instance, during the pre-Apple silicon period, Macs weren’t updated as frequently due to Apple’s reliance on Intel’s chip release schedule. However, even with everything developed in-house, a single development area glitch can still delay product rollouts.

This appears to be the case for various Apple products awaiting Siri’s upcoming enhancements. Siri’s new AI capabilities were initially expected to debut in March 2025, but those plans got pushed back. Apple subsequently assured that what it’s working on is significantly more expansive than the features showcased at WWDC 2024.

For some time, reports suggested March 2026 was Apple’s updated launch timeframe, along with iOS 26.4. But then a Bloomberg article indicated that features would be postponed until iOS 26.5 and iOS 27. Currently, the first beta of iOS 26.5 is available, showing no indications of Siri updates, and reports increasingly hint at a major Siri upgrade in iOS 27.

Mark Gurman has stated that several Apple products are ready to be released but are on hold due to the new Siri.

### New Apple TV 4K, HomePods, and ‘HomePad’ Reportedly Only Waiting on Siri

Recently, Mark Gurman provided insights on various upcoming Apple products during a Bloomberg Q&A. At one point, he was asked if new Apple TV 4K and HomePod devices were still in development. Here’s what he said:

> New HomePod mini, yes. New Apple TV, yes. New full-sized HomePod, yes. Just a matter of time. They’ve aimed to integrate Apple Intelligence and the new Siri functionality into those products before launching the new versions. They could have introduced them last year, but it’s simply a waiting game for that, much like how they’ve been awaiting the smart home display.

Gurman had previously reported that the new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 were slated for launches in late 2025. However, Siri’s continual delays seem to be causing their postponement.

Thus, Gurman indicates that there are four new Apple products ready but pending Siri:
– New Apple TV 4K
– HomePod 3
– HomePod mini 2
– ‘HomePad’ or ‘HomePod Touch’

Regarding the HomePad, the Q&A also revealed further information:

> There was a major delay due to the Siri capability. My understanding is these devices are stored in warehouses, these smart displays. They’re just awaiting that new software to be finalized so they can be shipped out.

If you’re keen on seeing Apple advance further into smart home devices, it seems there’s even greater anticipation for the new Siri in iOS 27, tvOS 27, and HomePod 27.
