Apple has received six Daytime Emmy nominations for its enchanting nature docuseries, created in collaboration with the BBC Studios Natural History Unit. The nominations were disclosed by the Television Academy for the 52nd Daytime Emmy Awards, with winners to be announced on October 17, shortly after the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 14.
The docuseries, entitled “The Secret Lives of Animals,” debuted on Apple TV+ late last year and includes 10 episodes narrated by Hugh Bonneville, famous for his performances in “Downton Abbey” and “Paddington.” The series has been nominated in the following categories:

This series signifies Apple’s third collaboration with the BBC’s Natural History Unit, succeeding the award-nominated “Prehistoric Planet” and “The Year Earth Changed.” Shot over a span of three years across 24 nations, “The Secret Lives of Animals” documents 77 distinct species and showcases innovative animal behaviors through advanced technology.
The series highlights remarkable interactions and behaviors, such as a jumping spider’s courtship dance, a killifish utilizing its tail for breathing, and a wood mouse establishing its territory. Each episode emphasizes critical life cycle behaviors, showcasing the intelligence and adaptability of various animals.
Audiences can view “The Secret Lives of Animals” on Apple TV+, which is accessible for $9.99 per month and includes popular shows and movies such as “Ted Lasso,” “Severance,” “The Studio,” “The Morning Show,” “Shrinking,” and “Silo.”
