Apple TV has recently revealed two thrilling new series that are poised to broaden its content range, following the comeback of one of its top hit series and the launch of a celebrated comedy.
### 1. The Husbands, an A24 Series Featuring Juno Temple
The first of these upcoming series is “The Husbands,” produced by A24 and featuring Juno Temple, recognized for her role in “Ted Lasso.” This series draws inspiration from the bestselling novel by Holly Gramazio. The storyline centers on Lauren, portrayed by Temple, who returns home one evening to encounter a man named Michael asserting that he is her husband, despite her having no recollection of him. As she navigates this peculiar scenario, she learns that her attic possesses the ability to conjure an endless array of husbands, leading her to reflect on the essence of her life decisions and the idea of living authentically. The series promises a mix of comedy and drama, showcasing a robust supporting cast, including Joe Alwyn, Richard Gadd, and Kingsley Ben-Adir. Although a release date is yet to be announced, Temple will next be seen in “Ted Lasso” season 4 this summer.
### 2. The Bonfire of the Vanities, a New York City-Based Series from David E. Kelley and Matt Reeves
The second series, “The Bonfire of the Vanities,” is adapted from Tom Wolfe’s satirical novel set in New York City. This adaptation is being crafted by two notable figures in the industry: David E. Kelley, who is penning the scripts, and Matt Reeves, who will direct and serve as executive producer. Kelley is renowned for his contributions to “Presumed Innocent” and the forthcoming comedy “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” while Reeves is celebrated for his direction of “The Batman.” The novel was previously turned into a 1990 film that was not well received, but Apple’s creative team is hopeful about the prospects of this new series. Like “The Husbands,” a release date has not been disclosed yet.
Apple TV continues to expand its content library, providing a subscription service for $12.99 per month, or through the discounted Apple One bundle. As these new series progress, viewers can anticipate further updates on their premiere dates.
