Apple TV+’s ‘The Studio’ Claims Best Comedy at Emmy Awards; HBO’s ‘The Pitt’ Prevails Over ‘Severance’ in the Drama Category

**Apple TV+ Sets New Record at the 2025 Emmy Awards**

Apple TV+ has garnered attention by achieving a new personal best at the 2025 Emmy Awards, clinching an impressive 25 awards across its series. This milestone was greatly enhanced by the popularity of its comedy series, *The Studio*, which excelled in the comedy categories with 13 awards, including the coveted Best Comedy Series.

Though victorious in comedy, Apple TV+ encountered obstacles in the drama category. Arriving with a notable 27 nominations for *Severance*, the platform ended up being eclipsed by HBO’s *The Pitt*, which took home the Best Drama Series Emmy.

Nonetheless, *Severance* did secure two Emmys during the event, elevating its total to eight, which includes wins at the previous week’s Creative Arts Emmys. Britt Lower, who plays Helly R., was awarded Lead Actress in a Drama, while Tramell Tillman, recognized for his role as Mr. Milchick, won Supporting Actor in a Drama.

*The Studio*’s achievement at the Emmys marked a crucial landmark for Apple TV+, having won the Best Comedy award, a distinction that *Ted Lasso* previously held twice. Furthermore, Seth Rogen received accolades for Lead Actor in a Comedy, and alongside his writing partner Evan Goldberg, earned awards for Best Directing and Best Writing in a Comedy Series. Overall, *The Studio* stood out as the most prominent show of the evening, accumulating 13 wins, surpassing all other series across various categories.

In the drama section, director Adam Randall was honored for his exceptional directing on *Slow Horses*, winning Best Directing of a Drama Series.

When measuring performance by platform, Apple TV+ took third place with 22 wins, a commendable feat given its relatively smaller collection of eligible titles. Netflix and HBO topped the rankings, each amassing 30 wins.

The event saw attendance from Apple CEO Tim Cook and SVP Eddy Cue, with Rogen expressing his appreciation to Cook for his backing during *The Studio*’s acceptance speeches. This year’s Emmy Awards emphasized Apple TV+’s expanding impact in the entertainment field, showcasing its dedication to delivering high-caliber content that connects with both audiences and critics.
