Apple has officially revealed the new 14-inch MacBook Pro equipped with the M5 chip. The company claims that this represents the “next significant advancement in AI for the Mac,” boasting up to 3.5x enhanced AI performance compared to the M4.

Here are the specifications of the M5 chip in the new 14-inch MacBook Pro:
– Next-generation 10-core GPU featuring a Neural Accelerator in every core
– Up to 1.6x improved graphics performance in professional applications and allows for up to 1.6x higher frame rates in games relative to the M4 model
– 10-core CPU offering up to 20 percent quicker multithreaded performance compared to M4
– 2x faster SSD performance
– Up to 4TB of SSD storage (in contrast to the 2TB limit of the M4)
– 153GB/s memory bandwidth (compared to 120GB/s on the M4)

The new M5 MacBook Pro is available for order today starting at the same price of $1,599 as its predecessor. Availability starts on Wednesday, October 22. It is offered in the same space black and silver as the earlier generation.
Apple has not launched a new version of the 16-inch MacBook Pro. They have also yet to announce the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Those announcements are anticipated sometime in early 2026.
