Google has acknowledged the slow response times of its AI when it comes to user commands and has initiated measures to resolve the problem. The chief product officer for Home, Anish Kattukaran, revealed a major update to the Gemini voice assistance system. This enhancement aims to lower latency by about 30% to 40%, providing a faster and more responsive experience for users. The upgrade primarily focuses on frequently used voice requests, such as switching off lights, and has also significantly decreased error rates. Users have indicated that previous latency problems made the AI seem more like a novelty, with response times of 10 to 15 seconds for basic commands. The update has now been completely implemented, improving the user experience with more effective and dependable AI interactions.
