It seems safe to assert that 2023 is indeed the year of clamshell devices. During a livestream event, the AYANEO Pocket DS was unveiled, marking it as the premier dual-screen Android gaming handheld.
This follows the release of the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 earlier this year, along with Game Boy Advance SP replicas such as the Anbernic RG34XXSP, Miyoo Flip, and Powkiddy V90S. AYANEO is familiar with clamshell designs, having launched the Flip DS and KB last year, and it recently started shipping the 1S DS to its backers.
