OpenAI announced a new $100/month plan that users have been requesting. Previously, the options were: free (which now includes ads), $8/month Go plan (also includes ads), $20/month Plus plan (ad-free), and a $200/month Pro plan (ad-free).
The $200/month plan isn’t listed on OpenAI’s pricing page, but it’s still available, confirmed by OpenAI to TechCrunch.
The Plus plan stays at $20/month, and the new $100 Pro tier supports daily usage of ChatGPT’s Codex tool, offering 5x more Codex than Plus. This new tier is aimed at competing with Anthropic’s $100/month option for Claude.
An OpenAI spokesperson mentioned that the new tier provides more coding capacity per dollar, especially useful during intensive work. Through May 31, higher Codex limits are offered on the $100 plan. Note that unlimited usage isn’t available on any plan; the $200 plan provides 20× higher limits than Plus, as per OpenAI’s FAQ.
Globally, over 3 million people use Codex weekly, with usage growing more than 70% month over month.
