Creality Falcon A1 Pro Review – User-Friendly, Fully Enclosed 20W Laser Engraver with HD Camera – CNX Software

2 Min Read

Creality has provided a sample of the Falcon A1 Pro laser engraver for review. This fully enclosed machine is designed for easy setup, as it comes mostly pre-assembled. Equipped with a 20W blue laser, it can engrave and cut materials like cardboard, wood, bamboo, rubber, leather, fabric, acrylic, and plastic.

It can cut 10 mm basswood and 8 mm black acrylic. The engraving speed is up to 600 mm/s, with auto focus, real-time flame detection, and an HD camera for precise positioning. It supports software like LightBurn and LaserGRBL on Windows and macOS, but this review uses Falcon Design Space.

Specifications include a 20W semiconductor laser at 455 nm for cardboard, wood, and more, with safety rated as Class 1. An optional infrared laser is available for metals, ceramics, and plastics. The work area is 358 x 268 mm, supporting Windows/macOS systems and various file types.

The package contains the machine and accessories like a silicone tube, air pump, screen, exhaust hose, brush, USB cables, a power adapter, and safety gear. The setup involves minimal assembly before connecting components like the display and exhaust. Accessories also include multiple engraving materials.

Initial setup runs a wizard for language, Wi-Fi, and app login. A self-test checks system functions automatically. The machine is ready once calibration completes. The review explores three engraving methods: online via Windows/macOS, offline via USB, and cloud via a mobile app. Online processing involves software setup and connection via USB or Wi-Fi. Offline uses a USB drive for design files, while the app handles cloud processing.

Testing with basswood involved varying power and speed, finding optimal settings for engraving with good detail. For cutting, settings were adjusted to reduce burns. Acrylic was also tested for engraving and cutting, achieving precise results.

Creality Falcon A1 Pro offers ease-of-use, safety, and precision for DIY and creative projects. With features like auto focus and a camera, it simplifies setup. However, Linux support is lacking, and the enclosed design limits larger workpieces and honeycomb table use.

The engraver is available for purchase on Amazon and Creality’s store. The review is adapted from CNX Software Thailand.
