“Devils on the Moon Pinball” offers a charming pinball experience on the Playdate. Initially, I kept a Wii U just to play “Devil’s Crush,” a classic pinball game combining engaging gameplay with demonic visuals. However, “Devils on the Moon Pinball” fulfills that niche in a compact form. As its name suggests, it features pinball set on the moon inhabited by little devils. With a single table designed around occult and astrological themes, players can unlock various challenges. The developers at Amano created a physics simulation that feels realistic on the tiny Playdate, ensuring a smooth experience without lag. This technical achievement complements the game’s personality, like a moon with a personality and demons that either assist or mock players. The board modifies with player actions, unlocking new elements and points opportunities. Like past handhelds with notable pinball games, Playdate now has “Devils on the Moon Pinball,” allowing me to retire my Wii U. “Devils on the Moon Pinball” is now available for Playdate and will soon launch on Steam.
