ElevenLabs, a voice AI company, has introduced an iOS application named ElevenMusic. This app creates and explores AI-generated music, aiming to compete with platforms like Suno and Udio. Released on April 1 after being listed on the App Store for weeks, the app highlights ElevenLabs’ ambition to extend beyond voice modeling. With a focus on AI-driven music creation to safeguard against AI audio model commoditization, ElevenMusic is free and allows users to generate seven songs daily using natural language prompts. Users can modify song length, lyrics, and style, as well as discover and remix others’ creations, with remixes counting towards the daily song limit.
The app offers live stations, albums, and daily mixes with themes like Focus, Energy, Relax, Late Night, Cosmic, and Chill. It also features top charts, trending music, and new releases, similar to platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. ElevenLabs provides a Pro subscription at $9.99 monthly or $95.90 annually, allowing up to 500 track creations per month, over 500 GB of storage, and varied styles and moods.
After securing a $500 million Series C funding in February at an $11 billion valuation, ElevenLabs has enhanced its creative capabilities. Last August, it launched a commercially safe AI music generation model and collaborated with top producers earlier this year for an AI-assisted album. ElevenLabs has expanded its offerings with a creative tool for ad generation, voiceovers, translations, image and video creation, voice cloning, and sound creation.
Previously known for consumer tools like ElevenLabs voice generation and ElevenReader, the company also launched a royalty program last year for authors to convert and distribute audiobooks on ElevenReader. Now seeking a consumer marketing lead to expand its music division, ElevenLabs may introduce royalty or other incentives to encourage more music creation on its platform.
