Hackers are said to have breached FBI networks.

CNN reported on Thursday, citing an anonymous source, that the breach impacted a system used for managing wiretaps and foreign intelligence surveillance warrants.

“The FBI identified and addressed suspicious activities on FBI networks, and we have leveraged all technical capabilities to respond,” a bureau spokesperson told TechCrunch, without providing further details.

This adds to a series of significant breaches of U.S. government agencies and American companies recently. Last year, Chinese hackers infiltrated the U.S. Treasury and the National Nuclear Security Administration, which handles the security of the U.S. nuclear arsenal. Meanwhile, Russian hackers accessed sealed records from the U.S. Courts’ filing system. Elon Musk’s DOGE obtained control of Americans’ personal data, violating established security procedures and federal protocols, despite a Senator’s warning that Musk poses national security risks.

Furthermore, the Chinese government hacking group Salt Typhoon has infiltrated at least 200 U.S. companies, according to the FBI. Companies confirmed to be affected include telecommunications providers AT&T and Verizon, as well as Lumen, Charter Communications, and Windstream.
