The Berlin startup, founded by the team behind viafintech, is creating a single integration allowing banks, fintechs, and HR platforms to provide gift cards, cashback, and tax-free employee benefits without dealing with the underlying infrastructure.

The founders of viafintech, acquired by Paysafe in 2021, have launched a new venture focused on the supply side of the market. Finperks, their Berlin-based startup, has raised $4 million in pre-seed funding led by Motive Partners and seed+speed Ventures.

The company is developing API infrastructure for banks, fintech firms, and HR platforms to offer prepaid products, gift cards, eCash, and cashback through a single integration. Currently, this involves managing multiple providers across various functions.

Finperks is solving structural issues in the growing, fragmented prepaid market. The company offers a single API that gives access to over 1,000 brands across Europe. Sebastian Seifert, co-founder and co-CEO, highlights the need for cashback in banks and benefits in HR platforms, emphasizing their interest in plugging into rather than building prepaid infrastructure.

Seifert, co-founder of viafintech, was recognized in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 for DACH in 2019 and Europe Finance in 2020. Finperks was founded in summer 2025 in Berlin-Charlottenburg with the same core team. After six months, they have onboarded more than 1,000 brands and signed their first customers. Payment app Flizpay offers brand-funded cashback through Finperks. HR platforms Recardy and Paylo use Finperks to distribute the Sachbezug without additional infrastructure. The funding will expand the engineering team, strengthen brand partnerships, and enter new European markets.

Motive Partners is betting on the infrastructure layer, expanding its portfolio in technology-enabled financial services. Seed+speed Ventures’ fund targets European B2B and enterprise software companies with AI applications, aligning with Finperks’ enterprise workflow infrastructure.

Finperks consists of eight people. Job listings describe a team of serial entrepreneurs and fintech veterans with a proven track record, leveraging the viafintech playbook for a market they know well.
