The leaks continue to emerge, and it appears that Samsung is already setting its sights on its upcoming earbuds. Recent information indicates that Samsung is advancing with the creation of its Galaxy Buds 4 and 4 Pro, as revealed by references in One UI 8.5 test builds. A tipster on X has also asserted that Samsung is initiating tests on the essential software for these devices. Reports suggest that the One UI 8.5 testing was discovered on Samsung’s internal testing servers.
As per a leak from SamMobile, Samsung has begun using internal identifiers for the next earbuds, calling them Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds Pro 4. Allegedly, the One UI 8.5 test server build includes code that points to these models, with model numbers SM-R540 and SM-R640 allocated for the standard and Pro versions, respectively. However, specifics regarding specs or features are not available at this preliminary point in development.
Additionally, another reference to Samsung’s forthcoming earbuds was uncovered by tipster Alfaturk on X, suggesting that the company has commenced software development for the Buds 4 and 4 Pro models.
In related developments, Samsung’s internal One UI 8.5 testing was identified last week, with the build appearing on the company’s testing server. This test version is associated with the Galaxy S25 series, featuring three version numbers linked to the series models. A speculated feature for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, known as “Private Display,” seeks to improve privacy by restricting screen visibility to those nearby.
Samsung’s official One UI 8 rollout for the Galaxy S25 series is currently in progress, with the update being extended to the Galaxy S24, Flip 6, and Fold 6 models.
