Gemini Introduces Notebooks for Project Organization

1 Min Read

Google’s Gemini is introducing a feature called “notebooks” to assist users in organizing information on specific topics in one place while engaging with the AI chatbot. Announced on Wednesday, this feature allows the integration of files, past conversations, and custom instructions into notebooks, which Gemini can use as context during interactions.

The notebooks are similar to ChatGPT’s Projects feature, which debuted in 2024, providing users the ability to store topic-specific information in a single location. Google describes notebooks as personal knowledge bases, synced across its products, starting with Gemini. They also integrate with Google’s NotebookLM AI research tool, ensuring shared sources appear in both applications.

Gemini’s notebooks will be available this week on the web for subscribers of Google’s AI Ultra, Pro, and Plus plans. The feature will be extended to mobile and free users in the coming weeks.
