Google Allows US Users to Change Gmail Address

1 Min Read

Google announced on Tuesday that users in the U.S. can now change their Gmail address without creating a new account or losing data.

Eligible users can visit their Google Account settings, go to Personal info > Email > Google Account email, and find a “Change Google Account email” button to begin the process.

Users can change their username only once every 12 months and cannot delete the new email address during that period.

Google assured that old emails will remain intact, and the previous email address will function as an alternate login option. Users can access Google services with either email address.

This update was also being introduced in some Hindi-speaking regions, as highlighted by 9to5Google, which noted the Hindi guide on changing Gmail usernames.

According to Google’s support page, the feature is being rolled out gradually, so some users may not have immediate access.
