Essential information

  • Google has unveiled an update for Chrome which introduces “Store Reviews” for PC users.
  • Store Reviews features an AI-generated description box, derived from customer feedback for a website sourced from Trust Pilot, ScamAdvisor, Google, among others.
  • This aims to assist users in making informed online shopping decisions, as this box will aim to emphasize pricing, product quality, and additional factors.
  • Last week, Search was improved with enhanced shopping features, including the official launch of virtual “Try On” and price tracking tools.

Google is refreshing its browser at the start of this week, which follows a recent pattern of enhancing online shopping experiences for users.

This morning (July 28), Google revealed the rollout of “Store Reviews” for its Chrome browser in a Keyword update. This update is currently being implemented first for users in the U.S. Users can access the new AI-driven Store Reviews by clicking the “site information” icon located on the far left of the address bar in Chrome. Google indicates that users will find “data from Google Shopping and other well-known review platforms.”

The AI will aggregate this data to (ideally) offer users “valuable” insights about a store during online shopping.
