Google Finalizes $32 Billion Wiz Acquisition

Google announced on Wednesday that it has acquired the Israeli cybersecurity firm Wiz for $32 billion in cash, a year after initially announcing the deal. This is Google’s largest acquisition to date.

Wiz, a company providing a security platform for major cloud environments to prevent and respond to cybersecurity threats, will integrate into Google Cloud but retain its brand and continue to secure customers across all cloud environments, according to Google.

“This acquisition is an investment by Google Cloud to enhance cloud security and enable organizations to build rapidly and securely across any cloud or AI platform,” stated the tech giant.

Google first approached Wiz in 2024, proposing a $23 billion buyout, which Wiz declined. At that time, CEO Assaf Rappaport believed the company had the potential for greater growth.

Discussions between the two companies resumed in early 2025, leading to Google reaching an agreement to acquire the Israeli firm last March.
