Google’s Latest Initiative for Repairs with Authentic Parts Arrives Just in Time for the New Pixel 10
If you’ve just picked up a Pixel 10, Google’s recent announcement might make you rest a bit easier at night. Today (Aug 27), a post on the Keyword blog revealed the debut of Google’s new Pixel Care+ program for repairs to Pixel and Fitbit devices. The company indicates that Pixel Care+ will offer “a higher degree of coverage, service and peace of mind” for those with devices made by Google. There are several key advantages highlighted for this new program, including $0 repairs for screens/batteries and claims for malfunctions outside the warranty period.
Should a part need replacement, Google assures that all its parts and replacements are authentic. Additionally, consumers using Pixel Care+ qualify for complimentary “upgraded shipping” when undergoing repairs, which includes next-day delivery.
Users of Pixel Care+ will benefit from “priority support” from Google’s specialists, along with unlimited claims for accidental damage, extended warranty claims, and mechanical failures. There’s also an option for self-service claims through the Google Store. When filing a claim, the post mentions that users can identify a convenient location and time for their repair. The newly released My Pixel app is also available for handling your Pixel Care+ claims.

Earlier this year, Google revised its Preferred Care payment options to introduce a one-time payment choice for Pixel devices. This feature was previously exclusive to Fitbit products but has now been extended to Pixel phones, watches, and tablets. However, as Google shifts towards Pixel Care+, it seems probable that the company will steer users in that direction, replacing the older Preferred Care program.
