Google has announced the global expansion of its AI-powered conversational search feature, Search Live, to all languages and locations where AI Mode is available. This will allow people in over 200 countries and territories to access the feature.
First launched in July 2025, Search Live enables users to point their phone camera at objects for real-time assistance, facilitating conversations based on the visual context from the camera feed. Before this expansion, it was only available in the U.S. and India.
The expansion is supported by Google’s new audio and voice model, Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, promising more natural and intuitive interactions.
Users can access the feature by opening the Google app on Android or iOS and tapping the Live icon below the Search bar. They can ask questions aloud for audio responses and continue the conversation with follow-up queries, with an option for further exploration via web links.
“Search Live is designed for real-time help, ideal for moments when typing is impractical,” Google noted in a blog post. Users can add visual context by enabling the camera, allowing Search to provide suggestions based on what the camera sees, along with web links for more information.
Search Live is also accessible through Google Lens by selecting the “Live” option.
Additionally, Google has expanded the “Live Translate” feature for Google Translate to iOS, now available in more countries like Germany, Spain, France, Nigeria, Italy, the UK, Japan, Bangladesh, and Thailand. This update allows users on Android and iOS to receive real-time translations on any headphones in over 70 languages.
