Google Unveils Gemini 3 Deep Think: Its Most Sophisticated Reasoning Capability Now Accessible

After undergoing safety evaluations, Gemini 3 Deep Think is now accessible to Google AI Ultra subscribers.

Google’s Gemini 3 Deep Think model is now offered within the Gemini app. The model was unveiled alongside Gemini 3 Pro Preview last month, but required additional safety assessments prior to a public launch. Similar to the Gemini 2.5 Deep Think model it supersedes, Gemini 3 Deep Think is limited to Google AI Ultra subscribers.

Last month, Google introduced the first AI model in the Gemini 3 series, which quickly became the top performer on both the LMArena and WebDev Arena benchmarks. The model, Gemini 3 Pro Preview, was broadly released across the Gemini app, AI Mode in Search, and Google’s developer tools. However, the company also showcased a more powerful Gemini 3 Deep Think model that underwent further safety testing before it became publicly available.

Currently, Gemini 3 Deep Think is officially set for deployment in the Gemini app. It is rolling out now for Google AI Ultra subscribers, as announced by Google in a blog post this week. It serves as the successor to Gemini 2.5 Deep Think, which was once Google’s premier AI model for advanced reasoning tasks.

“This new mode provides a significant enhancement in reasoning abilities, tailored to address intricate math, science, and logic challenges that even the most sophisticated state-of-the-art models find difficult,” Google states. “It employs advanced parallel reasoning to investigate multiple hypotheses at the same time.”

Gemini 3 Deep Think outperforms Gemini 3 Pro on leading knowledge and reasoning benchmarks. In Humanity’s Last Exam, Gemini 3 Deep Think achieved a score of 41% without tool usage. In contrast, the standard Gemini 3 Pro model managed only 37.5% without tools. Within the ARC-AGI-2 benchmark, Gemini 3 Deep Think recorded a score of 45.1% with code execution in a result deemed “unprecedented” by Google.

Within the Gemini app, Gemini 3 Deep Think is marked as “experimental.” The banner for Gemini 3 Deep Think designates the model as Google’s “most advanced reasoning feature.”

At this moment, Gemini 3 Deep Think is exclusively available to Google AI Ultra subscribers. This considerably restricts the number of Gemini users able to experience the next-generation thinking model. Google AI Ultra is priced at $250 per month and is tailored specifically for power users and business applications.

If you possess Google AI Ultra, you can select Deep Think from the Tools menu in the Gemini app. This option is only available when Thinking is chosen in the model selector. So far, Deep Think has stayed exclusive to AI Ultra, so AI Pro users should not anticipate access unless circumstances change.
