Canvas in AI Mode now includes support for creative writing and coding tasks.

Google is expanding the availability of Canvas in the US through AI Mode in Search. This feature offers a dedicated workspace in its AI search tool, utilizing the latest Search information to organize plans, craft tools, and draft documents in a panel alongside chat.

Initially, Google unveiled Canvas in its Gemini app for real-time document creation and coding. It later tested the feature in AI Mode focused on visualizing travel plans. Now, Canvas in AI Mode extends to creative writing and coding, letting users view AI-generated dashboards with prompt-related information or interactive tool prototypes.

To use the feature, go to AI Mode in Search, click the “plus” button in the chat window, and select Canvas. You can describe your desired creation, and Google will display results in a panel on the screen’s right side. Currently, this feature is available only in English.
