Grand Theft Auto III, released in 2001, is an open-world action-adventure game by Rockstar Games that significantly influenced gaming and popular culture. Its success established video games as a leading form of entertainment and storytelling, paving the way for future blockbuster franchises.

The game was a technological milestone, redefining open-world game design. It was among the first fully 3D open-world games to offer seamless exploration, combining mission-based gameplay with a vibrant city.

Initially released on PlayStation 2 and PC, the game never had an official Sega Dreamcast version. However, the homebrew community aimed to port the game to the Dreamcast and recently released the port, receiving widespread acclaim.

Falco Girgis and Stef Kornilios Mitsis Poiitidis, developers of the GTA3 Dreamcast port, joined a podcast to discuss the Dreamcast hardware and the challenging task of porting GTA3 to the console.
