Hands-on Evaluation: Latest Attributes of the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy Tab S11 Lineup

Samsung is merging the distinctions between flagship and midrange with the latest Galaxy S25 FE, and the compact Galaxy Tab makes its return.

Samsung is launching the upcoming series of fresh One UI 8 phones and tablets with the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 lineup. While the Galaxy S25 FE closely resembles its earlier version, it incorporates a clever set of enhancements including a new processor, improved front-facing camera, and a larger battery with quicker charging capabilities. For enthusiasts of smaller tablets, there’s now a new 11-inch Galaxy Tab S11 to complement the massive Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is the inaugural Galaxy S25 phone featuring One UI 8, which is based on Android 16. It’s a minor detail, and the other four Galaxy S25 models will receive the update in due course, but it illustrates how Samsung is closing the divide between midrange and flagship segments with the Galaxy S25 FE. In the meantime, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is even sleeker and showcases a new processor as well.

I had a brief opportunity to get hands-on with Samsung’s latest phone and tablets at IFA 2025, and I must confess, I’m quite thrilled. It’s refreshing to see a small, modern tablet in Samsung’s offerings once more, and it’s exciting to witness the Galaxy S25 FE developed as a flagship contender. Here’s all the essential information regarding these devices.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE

Upon first picking up the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, it felt quite akin to the Galaxy S24 FE, but the distinctions became quickly noticeable. The glossy back of the Galaxy S24 FE, which turned out to be a fingerprint magnet, has been replaced with a smooth matte finish. It is available in Jetblack, Navy, Icyblue, and White, and the darker hues nicely complement the silver aluminum side rails to produce a stunning contrast.

The rear of the phone features a straightforward triple-camera setup, similar to the three primary Galaxy S25 models, though without the DSLR-style lens covers. It also lacks the oval-shaped camera bump riser found on the Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy Z Fold 7. Consequently, the Galaxy S25 FE has successfully crafted a distinctive appearance.
