The NYT Connections puzzle today is simpler if you’re a frequent flyer. “Connections” is one of the leading New York Times word games, centered on identifying “common threads between words.” Like “Wordle,” “Connections” resets after midnight with increasingly challenging word sets. We’ve provided hints and tips to assist you.

What is Connections?

NYT’s latest daily word game has gained popularity on social media. The Times attributes associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu to its creation, adding it to their Games section. Playable on both web browsers and mobile devices, players must group four words with a commonality.

Each puzzle includes 16 words divided into four categories, such as book titles, software, or country names. Despite multiple fitting words, only one answer is correct. If guessed correctly, those words are removed. Guess wrong, and it counts as a mistake — players are allowed up to four mistakes before the game ends.

Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to identify connections better. Each group is color-coded: yellow is easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like “Wordle,” results can be shared on social media.
