The NYT Connections puzzle today is relatively easy if you’re keen on leveling up.

Connections is a popular New York Times word game capturing the public’s attention. The game involves finding “common threads between words.” Similar to Wordle, Connections resets after midnight, with each new set of words becoming increasingly challenging—so we’ve provided some hints and tips to help you overcome the hurdle.

What is Connections?

The NYT’s latest daily word game has become a social media sensation. The Times credits associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu with creating the game and adding it to the Games section. Connections can be played on web browsers and mobile devices, requiring players to group four words sharing something in common.

Each puzzle features 16 words, split into four categories per set: book titles, software, country names, etc. While multiple words may seem related, there’s only one correct answer. If a player correctly identifies all four words in a set, those words are removed from the board. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake—players get up to four mistakes before the game ends.

Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to more easily spot connections. Each group is color-coded: yellow is the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share your results on social media.
